The history of “Vinyl is Back” event
The original vinyl bazaar show, launched for the first time in the “Technopolis” of Gazi in Athens, 2013. After five very successful events at this place the event moved to, “Cine Kerameikos” for just one year.
Last year the event moved again to Hellenic Motor Museum and it seems like it found a place to stay. This year for a second time vinyl discs will be hosted together with the vintage aspect of the “four wheels”.
The “Vinyl is Back” event, feels satisfied and proud because, with a number of strategic decisions and strategies, has finally met its objectives, the creation of a worldwide event which gathers all the lovers of music and vinyl disc maniacs. Also “Vinyl is Back” event has managed to create a new generation of new audiences!
The “Vinyl is Back” event keeps alive the vinyl and serve it hot to us ! A great music show that proves that vinyl records are still durable and determined to stay forever.
About the Hellenic Motor Museum
The Hellenic Motor Museum is non-profit organisation, founded by the Family Charagionis in 1977 in order to spread the knowledge of vehicles in Greece. The collection, exceeding 300 vehicles which are dated back in 300 BC until the mid-90s. Visitors can enjoy models by famous brands which are no longer available.

The new profile of the “Vinyl is Back” event
Taking under consideration not only the expressed desire but also the real need for sellers to communicate with a potential market for more than one time a year of more times a year we take the decision to organize two annual events for Vinyl is Back and some themed bazaars.
So, for the first time we are glad to announce that apart from the event which will take place this September we are planning to organize a second one during Christmas period. The Christmas “Vinyl is Back” event will be hosted at the same wonderful place and will take place from the 9th to the 11th of December 2016.
The participants who will decide to take place in both the events will get some special discounts for their kiosks or stands.
The “Vinyl is Back” event wishes not only to accommodate all the vinyl lovers but also to allow them to express their love through their participation in the event. Our vision is to accommodate even private collectors who wish to participate with a small amount of material (even with one box with vinyl records or less)
“Vinyl is Back” event besides a hosting musical platform will also schedule the participation of instrument sellers for the upcoming event.
We are also glad to announce that the entrance fee for the Vinyl is Back event will be free from now on. Visitors should only pay a ticket if they wish to visit the Hellenic Motor Museum
This can be managed by prior agreement with the management of the ” Hellenic Motor Museum on the upper floors of the building (3rd and 5th)

Rock’n’Roll, Cadillacs and great people in “Vinyl is Back” event
In a new surprise space the leading music event, Vinyl is Back which was organized for a 7th time managed to successfully keep everyone happy and satisfied
friends of music and vinyl discs were all gathered for a first this time to Hellenic Motor Museum in 3rd September Str in Athens, from 8th to 10th of April 2016, where the vinyl discs took their place next to polished classical car models giving them a different vintage dimension!
This time away vinyl discs attracted thousands of people, from the traditional audience of vinyl maniacs to another audience of Athenians who were interested to classical music and also for new models of turntables or even new releases of vinyl records! People arrived from all over Greece to enjoy this multi-dimensional event.
The surprises during the weekend were a lot! An Italian visitor discovered a bootleg of Guns N ‘Roses «Live At The Felt Room N.Y. 9 MAY 1988 ‘ and he exclaimed “You made my day”!. Another visitor who is the founder of “The Lovers Vinyl” club left happy with his recent album Sigmatropic «Dead Computer Blues» on his hands! A girl was looking a rare vinyl record of a folk singer called Thalia and another girl was holding proudly the legendary album ” IPARXW” by a famous Greek singer named Stelios Kazantzidis.
Another collector paid really expensive an authentic copy of the double world -famous disc ”666” of the Aphrodite’s Child band.
Also the disc of “Akritas” was sold for 250 euros! Two young girls found vinyl discs of Nirvana and Soundgarden from 90s. A really interesting discussion was started from them in our social media page on Facebook.
Visitors could found vinyl records which were second hand, authentic, first released copies, even sealed ones for all tastes and at all prices. They had the opportunity for an endless three days search in the exhibition.
The exhibitors who participated were well known record stores with different material specifically for the “Vinyl is Back” event, individuals, or record companies who fanatically supports the vinyl records.
